On 18 November 2025, Mr. Hou Yongfeng, Education Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Spain, led a delegation to visit the Association of China-Spain Science and Technology (ACSST). Counsellor Hou held cordial discussions with Professor De-Yi Wang, Chair of the ACSST and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences.

During the meeting, Counsellor Hou Yongfeng first provided a systematic overview of the key responsibilities and recent progress of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Spain in promoting China–Spain educational exchange and cooperation, as well as in facilitating two-way mobility of young students between the two countries. He emphasized that scientific innovation and talent development will remain central priorities in China–Spain educational cooperation for the present and the foreseeable future. Counsellor Hou noted that the Education Section will continue to strengthen communication and coordination with the Sino-Spanish Association for Science and Technology (SSAST), the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM), and other relevant institutions, with the aim of establishing more stable, practical, and efficient mechanisms for cooperation in youth exchange, high-level talent training, and the development of joint research platforms.
Counsellor Hou then attentively listened to a detailed report by Professor De-Yi Wang on the collaboration between the SSAST and Chinese universities. He expressed high appreciation for Professor Wang’s long-standing contributions to advancing China–Spain cooperation in education and science and spoke highly of the “Overseas Research Capability Enhancement Program for Postgraduate Students” jointly implemented by the SSAST and Anhui University of Science and Technology. Counsellor Hou recommended that this initiative be promoted as a model of exemplary cooperation in China–Spain education and science, with the expectation that it will play a broader leading and demonstrative role.
