Welcome to IMDEA Materials Institute’s High Performance Polymer Nanocomposites (HPPN) Group. HPPN Research Group at IMDEA Materials Institute was created by Professor De-Yi Wang in 2012. The research group focuses on the application-oriented fundamental problems and novel technologies in fire safety engineering, fire retardant materials and polymer-based composites. Main research activities include:

  • Materials for fire safety engineering
  • Flame retardant materials
  • Materials for fire monitoring systems and devices
  • Fire-safe storage energy materials (e.g. Battery, Phase change materials)
  • Materials engineering

HPPN Research Group has well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities for R&D in fire retardant materials and polymer composite/nanocomposites, has a track record of attracting funding from the European Union, international collaboration, industries, and national government, has built up wide cooperation with renowned scientific institutions in the worldwide.
