Biography

Elena is a native of Alcorcón, Madrid. In 2019, she graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). The focus of her work there was on the synthesis and characterization of highly efficient perovskite electrode materials for Rerversible Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (RSOFC) using green chemistry methods, as part of the Preparation, Characterization, and Properties of Non-Molecular Solids (PCPSNM) group. In 2020, she earned her Master's degree in Science and Chemical Technology from UCM. Her Master's thesis explored innovative anode materials with a rigid 3D structure based on the Ti3+/Ti4+ redox pair to enable low-cost rechargeable potassium-ion batteries. Besides her studies and research, Elena is a science communication enthusiast and runs a scientific organization called Madrid UCM Student Chapter, which is funded by the Electrochemical Society (ECS). Her organization collaborates with scientists and societies such as the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) to organize research contests, workshops, and other scientific activities.
