Excellence as our technological key

3D-CharMat ("3-Dimensional Characterisation of Materials")

The specific objective of the proposed bilateral cooperation in materials science between Vienna University of Technology (TUW) and IMDEA Materials is to contribute to the multidisciplinary network on the 3D characterisation of heterogeneous materials by:

  • Developing new 3D methods in modelling and characterization of polymer matrix composites.
  • Knowledge transfer between IMDEA, specialised in composite processing and modelling, and TUW, specialised in 3D characterisation of materials.
  • To provide and interdisciplinary international education environment to PhD students by promoting mobility and transfer of knowledge between the partners (co-tutoring).
  • Further development of joint supervision of PhD thesis and execution of common research projects.
