Research Associate
Federico Sket graduated in Electrical Engineering at the National University of Comahue in the Patagonia Argentina. In 2005 he moved to Vienna University of Technology (Institute of Material Science) where he has carried out his diploma thesis on the Characterization of Corrosion Resistance of Functionally Graded Hardmetals. In 2006 he joined the Max-Planck Institute for Iron Research where he has carried out his PhD on Tomographic Investigation of Creep and Creep Damage under Inhomogeneous Loading Conditions and parallel research activities involving characterization of hardmetals. In 2010 he joined IMDEA as a post-doctoral researcher.
His research activity has been focused in the field of synchrotron computed tomography applied to creep and creep damage, using image analysis techniques, as well as characterization of hardmetals produced by powder metallurgy techniques.
